A talk about "The Life and Times of Edith Cavell" by Melanie Gibson-Barton BSc.

A Christmas miscellany of music, film and a quiz.

A talk "The History of Epple Bay" by John Robinson, MCS member, local historian and Chair of Birchington Heritage Trust.

"The Hanbury Gardens on the Italian Riviera" by Hugh Raggett, a retired professional Emmy-sward film-maker.  The talk is about Sir Thomas Hanbury, a celebrated Victorian Quaker and philanthropist, his connection with Wisley and the history of his renowned garden on the Italian Riviera.

Annual General Meeting followed by a talk on “The Secret Gardens of Sandwich” by Steve Edney (Head Gardener)

2nd November 2017
“The Vikings are Coming”, a talk by Imogen Corrigan, Lecturer on Anglo-Saxon & Medieval History of Art.

14th December 2017
Our Christmas social evening, including films, our Christmas raffle, our quiz and refreshments.  Guests £3.50.

1st February 2018
A big welcome back to Dr Steve Alexander with another talk about his father’s marvellous paintings, this time those on a Mediterranean theme.

1st March 2018
Rod LeGear MCIfA, Vice President, Kent Archaeological Society, Chairman, Kent Underground Research Group giving a talk entitled "Margate Caves and Thanet's Underground Heritage".

5th April 2018
“Public Timekeeping on the Isle of Thanet” by another of our favourite speakers, Mike Bundock.

10th May 2018

Our December 2018 (on Thursday 13th) meeting with be a special occasion to mark our 50th anniversary.
